Transitioning to a DockATot Grand

Sleep. As a mom to a two-month-old and a fresh three-year-old, I am in desperate need of sleep these days. I had fully prepared myself for the newborn sleep schedule – up every 2 to 3 hours for a feeding and pacing the halls with a baby who has his nights and days reversed. What I was not prepared for, however, was my toddler regressing in her sleep. Once the baby arrived, my toddler decided to fight bedtime, awaken multiple times in the night, and jump out of bed at any hint of sunlight. I was so desperate for sleep that when DockATot offered to send the Grand Dock for my daughter to trial I immediately said yes! My newborn has been doing so well in the DockATot Deluxe that I was hoping it would work wonders for my daughter!

Have you heard of the DockATot? It is a safe space to set your child in for a cozier sleep environment and in turn this cozier sleep environment promotes better sleep. There are two designs – The DockATot Deluxe, designed for babies ages 0-8 months old or 5-22Ibs, and the DockATot Grand, designed for toddlers ages 9-36 months old or 22-40lbs. You can read all about our newborn’s experience with the DockATot Deluxe+Dock – Silver Lining here.

My toddler has been trialing the DockATot Grand Dock- Silver Lining which is “perfect for cuddling, playing, lounging, resting and everything in between. It’s ideal for travel—either from room to room, grandma’s house or on vacation. It’s also ideal for bed transitioning, thanks to built-in, air permeable bumpers that act as bed rails, allowing young children to settle more easily in a bigger bed. It gives little ones a snug sense of security in their newer, bigger beds.”

The excitement was real when my daughter’s Grand Dock arrived. She tried her best to carry that package inside, but the Grand Dock is big! Once out of the box, my daughter was fast to jump in and lounge in front of her favorite movie (Frozen if you couldn’t already guess!).

The Grand Dock has helped my daughter become excited about bedtime. She isn’t asking to go to bed just yet, but she isn’t fighting bedtime as much as she used because she is excited to jump into her Grand Dock. She isn’t staying asleep through the night yet, which is one thing I was desperately hoping for, but maybe with time that will come… it has to right?!

I love traveling with the DockATot Grand. It has made the sleep transition from home to other places much easier. It is large enough for my daughter that she is able to use it as a bed on the floor or as a cozy place to sleep on a bigger bed. The sides help keep her secure in a new bed in a new environment. I also swear the Dock smells like home which is an added comfort.

The only negative I can see is the price. At almost $300 for the DockATot Grand it is quite the investment. I will say that this Dock can be used in multiple locations for multiple purposes. And, if you have a younger child in the DockATot Deluxe (like we do), he will eventually be able to transition into the DockATot Grand making this purchase a little more bang for the buck!

*Disclosure: I was not financially compensated for this post. I received the DockATot – Grand complimentary from DockATot as a sample to review, but my opinions are completely my own.*
