Toy Testing: PicassoTiles Glow in the Dark Race Track Set

We recently received the PicassoTiles PTT307 Glow in The Dark Flexible Race Tracks for reviewing purposes. When it was first opened, my husband made a comment about how the track looked like a one trick pony and he thought Big Sis would grow tired of it quickly. This race track has been in our living room now for approximately two weeks and it is the first toy Big Sis is drawn to in the morning and then when we get home from school in the evening. It has been a pleasant surprise to see how much use she has gotten out of it already. She first began to play with it as it was intended – turn the cars on and watch them zoom around the track. She then began to expand on her play by conducting experiments with the cars and pulling the track to be a highway with her other toys.

The Details

  • PicassoTiles PTT307 Glow in The Dark Flexible Race Tracks can be purchased on Amazon for $25
  • The 11 ft. neon track glows in the dark and each battery-operated race car has 4 built-in LED lights
  • The 2 cars require 2 AA batteries – not included
  • Accessories include: 2 battery operated cars, tower bridge, gas station, road signs, street lights, palm trees, and a double door gate
  • The set is recommended for ages 3 and up
  • The track flexes and bends to give the cars some wiggle room. Track pieces are easy to snap together (for an adult)
  • The track can be rolled up and stored neatly in the provided storage container

Pros

  • The cars light up and move around the track independently once turned on. Big Sis loves turning the cars on and watching them speed around the track
  • The track is flexible, so if it’s bumped by wiggly kids, it doesn’t fall apart
  • If the cars fly off the track, they are fun to chase around the house
  • The cars light up and the race track glows
  • It’s fun to build this in with other toys to create a town

Cons

  • Requires an adult to put together. Do not make the mistake of allowing your child pull out all the pieces and try building the track on her own – I speak from experience
  • The bridge appears somewhat flimsy. The track falls through the bridge at times, but is really easy to put back together.
  • There are some cute accessories, but my daughter isn’t really interested in the extra pieces

Bottom line, this race track has gotten way more use than I originally though it would. Big Sis initially loved watching the light up cars race around the track and it was fun to then watch her play expand to include her other toys.

*Disclosure: I was not financially compensated for this post. I received the PicassoTiles PTT307 Glow in The Dark Flexible Race Tracks complimentary from PicassTiles as a sample to review, but my opinions are completely my own.
